Board of Education marked a turning point in the history of race relations in the United States. On May 17, 1954, the Court stripped away constitutional sanctions for segregation by race, and made equal opportunity in education the law of the land.&amp;nbsp; Brown v. It is a great source of historical information about the ruling, and has information about Monroe Elementary School in Topeka, Kansas, which was one of the segregated schools African American plaintiffs in the case were forced to attend after being refused admission to schools for whites in their neighborhoods.
